The Corvette Daytona Prototypes will get an update for Year 2 of the Tudor United SportsCar Championship to better(ish) reflect its namesake's current body style.
Of course it's kind of a joke because the DPs have little in common with the production Corvettes, though I wouldn't scoff at a production model of the DP. In fact, what are the chances we're looking at the styling of the alleged Zora mid-engine model (probably slim to none)?

They do use LSx engines, however.

Hopefully, the chances of it being related to the Zora are zero. That concept should stay dead.

well it's better. I'm worried a new body style means DPs will be around longer than anyone wants.

There hasn't been an actual Zora concept. That was just C&D's vision for it.

I'm not totally opposed to them, but I do wish Tudor would use something more like LMP1s as their premier class. Guessing those are a bit less financially feasible for the mostly independent teams in the DP class.

I know I'm in the minority here when I say this but, I'm going to miss the Corvette Daytona Prototypes when they go away.

I kind of will too. It'll probably be the end of the mid-engine Corvette dream. Or probably not.

By concept, I mean the very idea of a mid-engined Corvette rather than a particular visualization of it.
If GM wants a rear-mid-engined sports car, call it something else because it's not a Corvette.

I'll be happy with P = lmp2 only. Does chevy supply lmp2 engine packages?

Ah. Well I'm mixed on it and keep going back and forth. The ME Corvette isn't really a new idea, it's just never been put into production. Duntov himself saw the benefits from a racing perspective and had a handful of test mules. After all, he was responsible for turning the line from a leisurely roadster to the performance beast we all love. Is it too much to believe the Corvette's savior saw a ME future?

I don't think so, but it's probably not far outside the realm of possibility. They supply to IndyCar and have the DP program.

The world complains there are no mid engined corvettes and yet here they are, good luck getting one road legal :P Now if only they could make the greenhouse look less like an after thought on all the DP cars.
